This program seeks to expose people to real issues at the ground level. It enables people from civil society to understand through experience, a world that is not their own but deeply connected to their lives. To make the choice to make a difference. It provides the link between individuals who want to volunteer and our partners and stakeholders. The volunteer team helps match your skills and interests with the needs of our organisation. This exchange is monitored and facilitated from the beginning to the end by the Drishtee team. In the year 2009 Drishtee increased its partnership with more than five educational institutions and volunteer organizations . These are University of Pennsylavania, Santa Clara, Challengers World Wide, Asoka and University of Singapore. Internshala is also helping us finding great talent. We admire the efforts they are taking for regularly posting our requirement for interns and volunteers on their website.
Our outreach program has been tremendously successful and we are continually exploring ways in which we can execute different iterations of this program. We hope the following project description will give you an idea into the area of work and hope the following comments and feedback from past volunteers will give you an insight on the program.

| Project Name: Rural Production Centre |
|
Location : Noida Head Office
Duration : 6 Months
Key Responsibility Areas: Identification of 'Need' of products which can be produced locally.
Drishtee's supply chain is built to catalyze rural entrepreneurship. It supports local enterprise in running a viable business model at the village level. The indirect beneficiary is clearly the marginalized customer. They get most of the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) within their village. In addition they also get need based durable goods such as solar torches, energy efficient stoves and mobile phones. All of this helps a village get services and products more efficiently. However, it does not help them increase their income. Drishtee is intending to use its Supply Chain on the reverse side (procurement) as well. By creating small production centers, within a village to cater to the market in the cluster close to the village, could be starting point of a economic revolution in rural areas.
To make this dream a reality, following 10 activities have to be undertaken
1.Identification of 'Need' of products which can be produced locally.
2.Understanding the market demand and consumer expectation, price points

Project Name:Rural B.P.O
Description:
Business Process Outsourcing is a great example of globalisation. Work like capital is today flowing freely to places where it gets best value. If the same is true in rural context where the workforce is more consistent, hungry and relatively cheaper, Indian villages can reap rewards of IT boom in cities. Unfortunately, while the solution looks attractive on paper, we still have to counter some critical challenges to emerge a winner. Most importantly, we need to offset the benefits of a dense cluster as in cities with better controlling and merging tools in villages. Concerns on capacity in a decentralised environment, data security and overall quality control needs to be answered. A strong business case based on social and commercial returns coupled with appropriate technological intervention has the capability of transforming the rural landscape.
